What kind of files can I submit for my sign?
The type of file is important, but the quality of the file is the most important. We can accept and work with (mac or pc files) jpg, tiff, eps, pdf, psd, ai.
Vector Art: line drawings and illustrations. Artwork created in a program like Adobe Illustrator or Macromedia Freehand. Vector art should not contain gradients. It should be made of solid lines and colors. Anything created in Adobe Photoshop is NOT vector art. Any artwork containing a photograph is not completely vector art.
If you are submitting line art or a vector drawing. The format will need to be in eps or ai format. Tiff or jpg versions for line art cause the file to lose its vector capabilities. Make sure to outline or path all fonts and outline all strokes.
Raster Art: Photographs and images that contain multiple colors and shading. These can come from a digital camera, or a scan of a photograph. They can be created in a program like Adobe Photoshop.
If you are submitting raster art or photos, the format should be a CMYK tiff file or a high resolution jpg file. When saving a jpg file, save the highest quality possible with minimal compression.
The better the quality is when we start,
the higher quality we can produce in the end.
PDF Files: PDF files are the best files to work with most of the time. They compress the most amount of information into the smallest package without compromising quality. Vector art and raster art can both be printed to pdf format and sent to us. PDF files are usually small enough to email.
I still don't know what type of artwork my logo is!!
Don't worry. Give us a call and we can help answer any questions you may have. We have an in house team of designers to help you through this process. We can help you determine what type of art you have, and help you get the appropriate files to us.
